Way back when I was in high school and college, I was very involved in working backstage for our school plays and such. It was a phenomenal experience to watch as a production grew from an idea and some sketches to a full blown play. It was hard work that is only successful when the cast and crew work together to create something special that transports the audience to another world for just a few short hours. When I photograph theatre, I remember what it was like to be doing this good work, and I ensure that every aspect, from the emotive cast to the lighting and sets, gets represented in the images. |
